To change or vary

In light of the expected changes in the job market due to the Corona year, is it time to change jobs if you’re not doing well? Is this the only way to change the situation…to move?

The answer is not necessarily! There are ways to stay in the same place but create a completely different work format and purpose. It is in your hands to change the situation if it is no longer suitable, and you can promote this with customized personal training .

This is how change begins.

Change doesn’t have to be physical, it’s first and foremost a change in approach to the situation. You don’t have to change your role or workplace, sometimes the conditions are too difficult for such a change, but you can definitely create something else that’s better and more interesting in the workplace.

Such options exist in creating new initiatives or joining initiatives and processes that you have not taken part in until now. The right thing to do is to choose tasks and challenges that will benefit your professional development.

For example, if up until now you have dealt with very focused issues and have not been involved in processes that involve more people or departments, it is worth examining how you can take part or join someone who does. Such a move will allow you to understand the complexity, become familiar with the language and approach, and be prepared for the possibility of expanding your authority in the future. Take part in processes or tasks in the organization that require learning something new, software, or a field of knowledge. Any connection that will allow for an upgrade and exposure to something new that can advance you personally will allow you to make practical progress in the future. First of all, because it will not scare you, and then because they will recognize you.

Step out of your comfort zone

Activities and tasks that provide the opportunity to learn new skills, expand knowledge, or new behaviors require stretching and stepping out of your comfort zone. The comfort zone becomes your disability zone over time. The place where you know everything automatically is a place where there is a certain silence and stagnation. This stagnation over time actually leaves you behind and, most importantly, creates a feeling of fear and incompetence over time.

In order to get out of this, you need to stretch your muscles and try new things. And yes, you can practice this! Personal coaching helps pinpoint the points of strength and the gaps that will bring you to the next thing. Personally and professionally.

Personal development is required in order to develop professionally. Especially in roles where there is interaction with the environment, from partnership to management and leadership. Every role requires us to communicate with the environment, and to create meaningful interaction with the environment, so that it sees us as both the person we are and the professional with the abilities. Otherwise, we get stuck in place. In essence, we get left behind.

This is how you start moving.

Find the right challenges for you, those that will allow for growth and development even in your current place. Look for ways to redefine your role and your work. What is your true value and not what is your role.

Initiate your progress. Create a plan and strategy for your progress. Share with those who will influence your future, examine what is needed to move forward. What else can be done to develop in the meantime and until the opportunity arrives. As much as possible, it is important to find allies who will help this process and provide opportunities for new connections and possibilities that will enable learning and improvement.

If it doesn’t work in the workplace, you can look for alternatives outside of that field to develop skills and improve. Sometimes you can find this in nonprofits, volunteer work, political organizations, or low-paying jobs. Anything that will allow and help you move forward while moving and not give in to a situation that doesn’t satisfy you.

Combine with work load and life

This is where the importance of effectiveness and proper and efficient time management comes in. Setting priorities, making decisions, ways to follow up, and doing things well-managed and without procrastination.

Choose your short-term and long-term goals correctly. Prepare a personal work plan for developing your career through skills development. Take into account the importance of coordination with the existing, creating priorities, etc.

Proper time management should also include time for the other important things in life. Family and children, sports or leisure, and friends. Focusing on only one aspect of life, such as a career, can be destructive in the long run. Balancing and properly managing priorities and time will make this possible.

Changing your self-management, and taking responsibility for your personal and professional development through your personal training process, will put you in a different place professionally in a short time. Such an approach opens doors even in times of Corona.
